Success!

Thanks to my hard work (trust me, I worked for this), I secured a location for a two week youth drama camp in our town! So this summer, I'll be doing a little something for the kids as well as giving everyone a good show with a reprise of the "Superhero Sanitarium". It'll be fun!

This is leading to other things happening. We've got a great town with great talent and I'm excited to be leading the charge on getting things going.

But now, it's time for the weekend. I'm ready to spend some time with my animals, go visit the lake house, and just relax. Have a great weekend!

I know it doesn't look like it, but Callie is actually happy in this pic.

Pool Season!

With the heat and the humidity this afternoon, it was a perfect day to open up the pool for swimming season. Technically, we were in a tornado watch, but with clear skies overhead, we splashed in.

Reggie, of course, was ecstatic we were swimming. He's actually been swimming in the pool since the end of March, but it was still too cool and dirty for us. The other pups got a dip in, forcefully, yet I think Tootsie might actually begin to enjoy it. Teddy is fine if I'm holding him in the pool though that gets old for me.

Rob and I were just glad to enjoy the pool and not go off to another meeting. He lounged around while I actually swam and did exercises. I better see results tomorrow haha.

Didn't mean to block Reggie in this shot

Farewell Marshmallow

We bid goodbye to the last kid going out this freshening: Marshmallow. She went to a home that already has other goats and sheep, and even one kid just about her age! S'mores and Marshmallow screamed bloody murder when I separated them, but then were completely fine afterwards. I sometimes think my animals get some acting training from me.

Fudge and Chip didn't seem to miss their cohort in crime. They both came up to me tonight for their usual snuggles. Now that all the kids going to homes are gone, I can start giving them treats as well. I have a feeling Chip is really going to like treats, her belly is already starting to get a little pudgy.

We'll miss you Marshmallow, but I know you're going to have an awesome time with your new loving family. Go the female as often as you can, I hear she's got all the best treats!

MOM!!!!!!!!!
Oh, this new home is awesome!

City Hall

Even though Rob and I are not technically part of the city, we decided to take in our first city council meeting. I've been to several other city council meetings when I worked as a journalist, but they're all basically the same. Well, maybe just a tad different here.

Here, the city makes up less than a thousand residents. They don't have to worry about traffic congestion issues, but maybe about loose cattle? There's no major issues and this meeting was quite tame, but I hear the June one might be more spicy. Oh, and in the visitor's section, there was one family, one single gentleman, and Rob and I. But we don't technically count since we're not citizens of the city. It was fortunate we got a seat! Haha

Tomorrow's fun is Marshmallow goes to her new home! She'll be missed, but again, I can't keep them all.

Floods and Furballs

We've had an extremely rainy weekend this past weekend. And this is after last week being rainy most every day. Friday night and Saturday night though, we're talking well over six inches of rain a night. That water has to go somewhere.

Don't worry, it didn't flood us. But, it did flood neighboring areas. One of my friends has been stuck on her hill since Friday and it's going to take a couple of days to recede. She's ok though, she's got everything she needs.

I took advantage of the pups constantly inside and bathed them. Let's face it, Teddy stunk. We've never had an intact male dog and didn't realize they could get so stinky. He smells good, for now.

I'm starting bigger things in our area just to get a community theater going. Stay tuned!

Answers

Before I get into tonight's blog, answers from yesterday's:

1. I love shoes so much that I will take them and hide one of each pair in different parts of the house. Tootsie
2. Anytime an outside door opens, I'm jumping in the pool. Reggie
3. Parkour is my only style of fitness. Mango
4. You shouldn't have left it on the counter if you didn't want me to eat it. Kenzie
5. Why do you keep tripping over me human? Flurry
6. The only way you know I love you is if I sit on or directly near your throat. Teddy

Now you have a little insight into my indoor animals. Every animal, like every human, has their own personality and I greatly enjoy getting to know theirs.

I wrap up this week saying we should only have one more week of the lakehouse remodeling. The farm and all its inhabitants are doing well. I found Marshmallow a loving home. I'm making progress on the local theater initiation. Bottom line, all is good.

A Little Game

With it being a drizzly day and everyone being blah, let's play a little game. We have six indoor animals: Reggie, Kenzie, Teddy and Tootsie are dogs; Flurry and Mango are cats. I'm going to give six different sentences and you decide which animal applies to which sentence. Ready?

1. I love shoes so much that I will take them and hide one of each pair in different parts of the house.
2. Anytime an outside door opens, I'm jumping in the pool.
3. Parkour is my only style of fitness.
4. You shouldn't have left it on the counter if you didn't want me to eat it.
5. Why do you keep tripping over me human?
6. The only way you know I love you is if I sit on or directly near your throat.

These are tricky! But each can only be used once and truly only person to one indoor animal.

One of two identical couches I've failed to share with a pic. So comfy!
